Ivan Steele is recognized as a Barrister-at-Law by the Province of Ontario, a Solicitor of Ontario Superior Court and Court of Appeal of Ontario, Commissioner for Taking Affidavits, and Notary Public with the Province of Ontario. Ivan is a Toronto family and immigration lawyer who regularly appears before Ontario Court of Justice and Superior Court of Justice in Toronto, and occasionally in Brampton and Ottawa.

Ivan obtained Bachelor Degrees in English and Sociology and a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology summa cum laude from the University of San Francisco, and graduated with honors from the University of Ottawa law school. He received additional training in immigration and comparative refugee law at Southwestern Law School in Los Angeles.

Before starting his own practice as a Toronto immigration and family lawyer, Ivan worked for the Office of the Children’s Lawyer, articled at Davies Ward Phillips and Vineberg LLP, a premier corporate law firm, and worked for Jordan Battista LLP. In addition to his background in business and law, Ivan is a trained psychotherapist, and is conversant in theories and effective practices for working with children, adults and their families in a variety of mental health settings. He received extensive training in alternative dispute resolution strategies and collaborative family law.

Ivan is assisted in his legal practice by his partner, Rolando Aviles, who holds Licenciatura en Mercadotecnia y Negocios Internacionales from Universidad Autonoma de Yucatán, Facultad de Contaduria y Administracion, and is currently obtaining his certification as an immigration consultant in Toronto. Rolando is recognized as a Commissioner for taking Affidavits with the Province of Ontario.
